HD Hyundai and Palantir Expand Strategic Partnership

Chairman Chung Kisun of HD Hyundai participated in the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting, referred to as the Davos Forum, in Davos, Switzerland, where he talked about the future of artificial intelligence (AI) and the energy sector.
The Davos Forum unites leaders from government, business, and academia globally to tackle worldwide issues and investigate potential solutions. This year's conference takes place from January 19 to 23 with the theme "A Spirit of Dialogue." Chairman Chung attended the forum for the first time in 2023 and is now participating for the fourth straight year.
During this year's forum, Chairman Chung participated in important official sessions and engaged in extensive conversations with global leaders regarding industry transformation influenced by AI; the rising significance of accessibility, resilience, and AI as fundamental elements of the energy shift; as well as the potential downturn in global growth due to geopolitical changes, in addition to strategies for tackling those issues.
Chairman Chung is set to participate in the Oil & Gas Governors meeting, building on his involvement from last year, to discuss shifts in the global energy market, the transition of energy, energy security, and technological advancements.
On the second day of the forum, January 20, local time, he met with Alex Karp, co-founder and CEO of Palantir Technologies, and reached an agreement to enhance the strategic partnership between HD Hyundai and the global enterprise AI firm.

Through the enhanced partnership, HD Hyundai intends to extend its current collaboration with Palantir and increase cooperation throughout the group, involving essential affiliates like HD Hyundai Electric, HD Hyundai Robotics, and HD Hyundai Marine Solution, as it speeds up its digital transformation. Starting in 2021 with HD Hyundai Oilbank, the group has implemented Palantir's big data solutions and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) throughout its main sectors, such as shipbuilding and offshore activities, energy, and construction machinery, creating a data-led decision-making structure.

“This broadened strategic alliance represents a significant milestone in unifying data and workflows throughout HD Hyundai into one seamless system—facilitating quicker and more advanced decision-making,” stated Chung Kisun, Chairman of HD Hyundai. He mentioned, "Palantir is a partner with internationally recognized expertise in data integration, operational enhancement, and AI-powered analytics, and will bolster the execution of HD Hyundai's digital transformation."

In the future, HD Hyundai intends to collaboratively create a Center of Excellence with Palantir to systematically integrate advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities throughout the organization, alongside ensuring sustainable growth engines that facilitate AI-driven innovation.
