The message is clear--regardless of business size, organizations everywhere live under the constant threat of cyberattacks. In Kuwait, this risk is particularly pressing, making it imperative for enterprises to build safer environments by engaging cybersecurity specialists and reinforcing end-point security. Leaders must remain acutely aware of the scale and sophistication of today's attacks, which have dramatically intensified in recent years.A recent report revealed a concerning 30 percent surge in cyberattacks worldwide in Q2 2024 compared to the previous year, with Asia bearing the brunt. Kuwait has witnessed firsthand how damaging these incidents can be. The Health Ministry was recently targeted, prompting widespread system outages across several hospitals, disruption of the Ministry of Health website, and interruptions to the Sahel healthcare app. Although the ministry, aided by state security agencies, successfully contained the breach, the event underscored the vulnerability of critical infrastructure. In response, the government has urged organizations across sectors to fortify their security measures to prevent similar disruptions. The education sector has also emerged as one of the prime targets, further highlighting the urgent need for resilience across Kuwait's institutions. In this special yearly issue, we spotlight some of the nation's most resilient business leaders who have taken proactive steps to protect their organizations in the face of escalating digital threats. Their actions demonstrate how vigilance, investment, and strong leadership can make the difference between operational continuity and potential crisis. This special issue is all about finance leaders in Kuwait.Do let us know your thoughts.Sujith VasudevanManaging Editoreditor@ceoinsightsasia.comKuwait, Business and Safety
