The service will be introduced across its Airbus A350-900 long-haul and ultra-long-range fleet, along with its A380 aircraft, and is expected to be fully implemented by the end of 2029.The airline said the system will use Starlink's low Earth orbit satellite network, comprising more than 10,000 satellites, to deliver multi-gigabit broadband speeds and seamless connectivity throughout flights."Fast, seamless connectivity is an essential part of the travel experience," said Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President Customer Experience at Singapore Airlines, adding that the upgrade will enhance entertainment, productivity, and passenger connectivity from take-off to landing. Avnet has opened a new Avnet Integrated Solutions facility in Singapore to strengthen regional integration capabilities and support customers adopting China-plus-one supply chain strategies across Asia-Pacific. The Singapore site is the company's sixth global integration center and complements facilities in the United States, Mexico, Germany, and China. Located within Avnet's Farnell Distribution Center, the facility will provide system, server, and rack build services alongside international shipping support. The site is certified under Singapore Customs' Secure Trade Partnership program and is pursuing ISO 9001 certification. Avnet said the facility will help customers improve supply chain flexibility, reduce lead times, manage operational risks, and accelerate time to market while supporting future regional expansion and localized integration services across Southeast Asian manufacturing networks.
