Since its inception in 2011, Chandra Segar has led Aspiration Imaging Services to be a leading player in the IT, ITES and IT network infrastructure services industry. Chandra Segar’s foresight led him to develop an online portfolio application, offering IT-enabled services in IT product development, ITES, digitalization, and HR solutions. CEO Insight Asia got in touch with Chandra Segar Johan to discern his journey and the road ahead for Aspiration Imaging Services. Below is an excerpt of the interview.

Could you please give a brief insight on your professional journey and what led to the inception of Aspiration Imaging Services?

My journey in the IT industry started in 2000, when I joined Indecomm Global Services, an IT and ITES-based company. After gaining valuable experience for around five and a half years, I moved to Gradatim IT Ventures, where the focus was on development of micro finance and micro insurance products. It was in 2010 when I thought of establishing my own company and started developing few products with some basic automated tools, and registered the Aspiration Imaging Services as a private limited in 2011.

How has the journey been so far for Aspiration Imaging Services?

Aspiration Imaging Services has grown leaps and bound and has expanded to other countries in Asia Pacific and Europe, including the U.S. Initially focused on IT products, we faced revenue challenges and diversified into ITES for BPO segments and ventured into digitalization. Building on our core strength in IT, we became a Microsoft technology partner (BizSpark) in 2012, receiving significant support and utilizing Microsoft tools for application development. We also secured projects with major telecom companies like Tata Docomo, Idea Cellular, and Vodafone and demonstrated our application development and implementation capability. We further diversified into HR augmentation and IT networks to sustain and expand our presence. Today, our operations extend beyond India, and we have a strong presence in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, the United States, and the Philippines. We offer a comprehensive range of software services, with expertise in IT network installations, de-installations, hardware disposal, warehousing, staff augmentation, and maintenance services for clients in the banking, financial services, and pharmaceutical sectors.

Aspiration Imaging Services offers a range of IT solutions to its clients. Could you please elaborate on each of the flagship offerings?

At Aspiration Imaging Services, we have established ourselves in IT, ITES, IT network infrastructure, digitalization, and payroll. As an ISO 27001 ISMS and CMM level certified company, our ITES focus aligns with clients' core business needs. We deliver comprehensive voice and data support with skilled engineers proficient in various proprietary platforms. Our CRM platform, which integrates artificial intelligence and machine learning, enhances non-core vital business functions and ensures customer satisfaction.

Under IT network infrastructure, we offer data migration services and robust hosting options through both in-house and third-party solutions. Our expertise in IT network infrastructure extends to supporting global companies with data center maintenance and grid fixing tasks. As for our unique approach to staffing, we maintain a database of temporary staff or casual laborers, providing our clients with real-time access to engineer details, scheduling, and activity updates through our software application.

Digitalization is another area where we have gained recognition. We are proud to have been recognized as one of the top 10 companies in the DMS document management systems industry in 2021 by CIOReview India.

Similarly in ITES (BPO) industries, we have been recognized as one of the top 10 BPO Companies in Singapore in 2023 by Asia Business Outlook.

What is your approach towards ensuring that your team stays true to your company’s client centric approach?

I believe in empowering employees and fostering a collaborative environment. We encourage our IT professionals to think independently, develop innovative solutions, and participate in decision-making processes. We value their inputs and hold joint meetings where suggestions and ideas from team members are discussed and considered. Our approach is not about driving the company solely from the top-down; we believe in collaboration and inclusivity. Even newcomers who have joined recently are encouraged to share their thoughts and suggestions. We create an environment where everyone feels empowered and not restricted in expressing their ideas. This approach has fostered excellent teamwork and a positive work atmosphere. We want our team members to wake up every morning and feel excited about coming to the office. We strive to ensure there is no pressure or misunderstandings within the team. Every individuals from software trainees to department heads, is treated with respect and equality. This is a principle we emphasize and reinforce on a daily basis.
