Tell us about your academic experience from City University of Hong Kong. What did you learn from the campus beyond academics?
During my academic journey at City University of Hong Kong, I delved deep into the intricacies of engineering, particularly focusing on building services encompassing electrical systems, air conditioning, fire safety, security, internet network systems and audio-visual systems required in the hospitality industry that are crucial for modern buildings. The real-world application of this knowledge became evident when I transitioned to the engineering department of a hotel, where I could practically implement what I had learned.

Beyond the textbooks, City University taught me the invaluable lesson of translating theoretical knowledge into practical solutions. Moreover, the campus experience went beyond academics, shaping my understanding of effective management, teamwork, and the art of dealing with diverse stakeholders.

As the Director of Technical Services, what are the factors you look into when developing strategies for long-term digital transformation?
My approach to developing strategies for long-term digital transformation revolves around fostering a culture of creativity and learning within my team. I firmly believe in supporting experimentation, even if it entails the possibility of failure. Learning from failures is a crucial aspect of improvement and innovation.

To mitigate risks, I lead the team in continuous reviews and assessments throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that we can identify and address potential challenges before they escalate. I also emphasize a dynamic and adaptive strategy that allows us to achieve our goals while remaining agile in the face of evolving technological landscapes.

In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, our ability to adapt & harness innovation defines our trajectory

I believe in cultivating an environment where every team member feels empowered to share innovative ideas. It's not just about my individual creativity but about creating a collective atmosphere that nurtures diverse perspectives and imaginations.

To leverage the latest technologies, I ensure that my team has access to ongoing training and resources. Moreover, I emphasize the significance of recognizing and rewarding innovative contributions.

Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines or methodologies you follow as a leader?
In my role as a leader, I firmly believe in leading by example to instill a culture of innovation and collaboration within my team. I understand that innovation often involves taking calculated risks, and I make it a point to assure my team that I stand by their ideas, even if they entail a certain level of uncertainty. As a leader, I take personal responsibility for the risks associated with implementing innovative ideas, ensuring that my team feels secure in their creativity.

What is the future destination that you are headed towards?
