BOFABOFA, a prominent player in portable fume and particulate filtration systems for additive manufacturing, is enhancing its position with the launch of the latest generation 3D PrintPRO technology tailored for high-temperature processes.

Dubbed the 3D PrintPRO HT, this innovation is designed for 230V markets, specifically targeting the filtration of high-temperature particulate, gases, and nanoparticles emitted during polymer processing within print chambers. Operating at temperatures up to 100°C, it facilitates the use of high-performance functional materials while safeguarding the print head and workspace from airborne contaminants. The system is particularly suitable for fused deposition modeling, stereolithography, and digital light processing techniques.

Key to its performance is the integration of advanced electronics, thermal insulation, a highly insulated connection kit, smart airflow management, and an advanced filtration architecture. These features ensure energy-efficient extraction of emissions with minimal heat loss, even in environments with higher chamber temperatures.

BOFA's modular design approach enables the 3D PrintPRO HT to support closed-loop continuous operation, providing a maximum airflow rate of up to 100 m³/h for particulate filtration during the printing process. Additionally, it offers an open-loop intermittent operation (purge cycle) at a fixed airflow of 30 m³/h, capable of filtering both particulate and gases. The system can accommodate both demands through a pairing kit. Furthermore, it incorporates filter exchange indicators and communicates filter status to the host machine, enhancing usability and maintenance efficiency.

Arran Morgan, Senior Product Manager at BOFA, highlighted the significance of this advancement, stating, "This latest generation of our 3D PrintPRO HT system demonstrates how BOFA is adapting to the constantly evolving additive manufacturing marketplace." Morgan emphasized the system's ability to enable manufacturers to work with high-performance polymers that necessitate elevated chamber temperatures, all while ensuring a safe workplace atmosphere and protecting investments in valuable equipment through portable extraction solutions.
