CelcomDigi Teams Up with SoftBank and SC-NEX to Expedite IR4.0 Solutions

CelcomdigiCelcomDigi Bhd has joined forces with Japanese technology giants SoftBank Corp and Sumitomo's subsidiary SC-NEX to expedite the digital transformation of Malaysian enterprises embracing Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) solutions. The partnership entails CelcomDigi harnessing the knowledge of both firms in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and analytical solutions. Following the memorandum of agreement (MoA) signing ceremony, CelcomDigi CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi stated that their emphasis will be on Agritech and smart city solutions.

Agritech involves employing drones and AI in the agricultural sector, while smart city solutions focus on the development and management of buildings, as per a statement. CelcomDigi CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi mentioned that the partnership creates numerous opportunities for Malaysian enterprises to swiftly access transformative technologies, aiding them in realizing their business potential. He added, "Our goal is to facilitate the digital transformation of more businesses, enabling them to stay competitive in today's digital economy".

Kimimasa Kudo, SoftBank's Vice President and Global Business Division Head, noted that the bank has developed cutting-edge smart building solutions, incorporating advanced building entry and robotics solutions. These solutions are poised to contribute to the sustainable growth of the industry in Malaysia. SC-NEX CEO Jun Okawara stated that the company has inherited innovative initiative experiences from Sumitomo Corp in Japan and globally.
