At the recent Asia Investment Summit, Amanda He, the Head of ChainUp Investment, delivered a persuasive argument regarding the transformative power of crypto investments. She emphasized the ever-evolving nature of digital assets, elucidating strategic methodologies and market dynamics that emphasize the increasing significance of crypto within contemporary investment portfolios.

Amanda unveiled one of ChainUp's successful investment strategies, which involves capitalizing on funding rate arbitrage through a distinctive derivative instrument in the crypto space known as perpetual swaps. The firm realized a remarkable cumulative return of 25.42% with a Sharpe Ratio of 6.25 from Q3 2023 to Q1 2024 while maintaining a delta-neutral position.

She emphasized Bitcoin's notable historical price surges, including a 630% increase in 2021, 3,070% in 2017, and 9,780% in 2013 following halving cycles. She anticipates further growth in the upcoming cycle (2024-2028), attributing it to innovations such as modular blockchains. Over the past 3 months, fees generated from Celestia increased by 13.7%. Additionally, Bitcoin Layer 2 solutions witnessed significant investment, with a nine-figure sum raised in US dollars for this sector in 2024. The decentralized AI sector is currently valued at approximately $40 billion. Moreover, in the GameFi realm, the leading protocol IMX experienced a notable 35% increase in weekly active users over the past 30 days.

She pointed out Bitcoin's inverse relationship with major assets, positioning it as a valuable asset for portfolio diversification and improving risk-adjusted returns. According to our research, an optimal allocation could range from 5% to 10% of the portfolio. Sophisticated investors might consider increasing their allocation to over 20%, while skeptical investors are advised to allocate at least 1% to achieve overall portfolio diversification.

She emphasized Web3's potential to expedite AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) development, citing Render Network as a leading protocol in decentralized GPU networks and Fetch.ai as a cost-effective solution in the permissionless AI agent marketplace. Amanda stressed the significance of strategic positioning during the later phases of the crypto bull cycle. Historically, altcoins have outperformed BTC significantly during these stages, with an 811% increase compared to BTC's 334% rise from October 2020 to December 2021.
