RcbcRCBC secures another accolade as its President and CEO, Eugene S. Acevedo, is honored in People Asia's 'People of the Year 2024' list. Acknowledged as 'The Consummate Banker' in the publication, Acevedo stands out as the sole Filipino banker recognized for spearheading RCBC's financial inclusion initiatives and digital expansion.

Under the leadership of the experienced banker, RCBC has rapidly ascended to become the country's fastest-growing bank. From the eighth position in 2018, it climbed to the fifth spot in 2022 among the Philippines' largest privately owned banks in terms of assets. In an interview with People Asia, the RCBC executive emphasized the bank's commitment to ensuring accessible and relevant banking services for millions of Filipinos in underserved and unbanked segments of society. RCBC strongly aligns with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' goal to onboard 70% of adult Filipinos and digitize 50% of retail payments by the end of 2023.

The CEO and President revealed the bank's support for micro, small, and medium enterprises through the newly launched RCBC Boz mobile application. This digital solution, introduced by the Philippines' fastest-growing bank, offers a comprehensive range of services to assist emerging entrepreneurs in managing various aspects of their businesses, including payables, payrolls, and receivables. Additionally, Acevedo highlighted the bank's efforts to streamline access to loans and credit for entrepreneurs, recognizing the challenges Filipinos often face in entering traditional formal loaning and credit systems.
