RCU Anounces a Strategic Integration Project Deal with Thales
The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) and Thales, a leading global technology company for the aerospace and transportation industries, have unveiled a new multi-million dollar strategic project deal . AlUla County is home to many historic artifacts and historical treasures of both national and international significance. Preserving this rich cultural cache from harm—including theft or vandalism—requires the proven experience of international specialists Thales.
Under this new security agreement, AlUla’s world-renowned collection of ancient artefacts, important cultural landmarks, and heritage assets will be protected around the clock using the latest digital technology and surveillance equipment. Announced at the seventh annual Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, the Strategic Security Integration Project will see experts from the French cybersecurity firm work closely with RCU to install and maintain a range of security devices and safety solutions, as per gdnonline.
The initiative will protect and keep an eye on significant historical and cultural sites around AlUla. In order to safeguard the people, businesses, and tourists of AlUla, it will also extend to significant urban and rural locations.
In keeping with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 strategy, the agreement fortifies a cooperation between RCU and Thales, which was inked in Paris in 2021, to further RCU's aims for smart and sustainable city development in the areas of archaeology, tourism, culture, education, and the arts.
The project will use cutting-edge security systems connected to RCU's Integrated Smart Operations Centre for efficient and centralised operations, ensuring the safety of everything from the Nabatean tombs of Hegra to natural formations like Elephant Rock and other landmarks. This will allow security teams to respond to any and all violations or threats.
