Samil PwC CEO Wins Prime Minister's Award for Inclusive Hiring

Samil PwC's Chief Executive Officer Yoon Hoon-soo was awarded a commendation from the prime minister during the government's employment creation recognition ceremony organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, as announced by the accounting company.

These honors acknowledge business executives who contribute meaningfully to creating stable, quality employment opportunities. Yoon received recognition for increasing job prospects for youth and disadvantaged populations, particularly people with disabilities.

The country's biggest accounting company experienced growth in young employee hiring, increasing from 406 workers in 2023 to 455 in 2024, representing a 12.3 percent rise. The hiring of disabled individuals also expanded, growing from 59 to 64 over the same timeframe, marking an 8.5 percent increase.

Particularly noteworthy is the firm's operation of a subsidiary that has earned certification from the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities (KEAD) as a designated workplace for disabled individuals, offering secure employment to 57 people and showcasing its dedication to assisting vulnerable job candidates.

The KEAD-certified facility aims to foster stable employment for individuals with severe disabilities while supporting their integration into society. Through this initiative, businesses that employ a minimum of 10 disabled workers, satisfy mandatory disability hiring quotas, ensure accessible infrastructure, and provide wages exceeding the minimum standard qualify for governmental support.

Furthermore, Samil PwC provides multiple flexible employment arrangements, including remote work options and telecommuting capabilities. These initiatives helped the company earn recognition for outstanding work-life balance achievements in 2024.

Yoon became part of Samil PwC in 1987 and has dedicated more than three decades to audit specialization, establishing himself as a recognized authority in the field. Throughout his career, he has occupied important roles, including leading the global services division.

In July 2020, he assumed the position of CEO and received reappointment in 2023, with his leadership term scheduled to continue through June 2027.

During his tenure as leader, the organization has vigorously embraced digital transformation initiatives, making substantial investments in developing staff members' technological capabilities and implementing partial automation in audit procedures to enhance overall quality.

Additionally, the organization achieved a milestone by becoming Korea's first accounting company to introduce a digital solution subscription offering, showcasing its dedication to generating fresh growth possibilities through technological advancement.
