
Schneider to Buy Temasek's Stake in Indian JV Schneider Electric

Schneider Electric SE is considering purchasing Temasek Holdings Pte, a minority partner, for the remaining portion of its India business.
For almost $1 billion, Schneider is in negotiations to purchase the 35 percent share in Schneider Electric India that the Singapore state investment corporation currently owns, according to reports.
The entire business, including debt, might be worth about $5 billion in a possible deal.
Temasek has been considering its options for leaving the joint venture, which include selling to its majority partner or another party and going public.

According to a statement from 2020, when it finalized the merger of its Indian low voltage and industrial automation product unit with Larsen & Toubro's electrical and automation operations, Temasek held a reminder that Schneider Electric India is 65 percent controlled by the French corporation.
Originally a manufacturer of electrical equipment, Schneider, one of the largest and oldest industrial enterprises in France, now offers software and equipment for factories, data centers, and buildings.
