Learn, Unlearn and Re-Learn

Separator

Today, with the advantage of technology, education is not a phase in your life. Even in professional lives, only the ones who constantly learn, unlearn and relearn thrive. It’s a great omen that top universities worldwide cater to this need by providing educational courses to working professionals, considering the very fact that they are working and designing the learning timings and pedagogy accordingly. For instance, LinkedIn’s Global Climate Talent Stocktake 2024 report found that despite global demand for green talent increasing by 11.6 percent from 2023 to 2024, supply grew by only 5.6 percent. That’s an alarming gap.

Top universities in the world are constantly striving to bridge this gap. For instance, the fully online version of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership’s (CISL) accredited Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business (PCSB) is due for launch in September this year. Dr Theo Hacking, the director of postgraduate programs at CISL, says, “The online delivery comprises two stages. Firstly, students will complete a period of intensive, self-paced learning over eight weeks, and thereafter, they join a second stage, where they will complete the formally assessed assignments over 10 months. During these 10 months, they will also participate in additional teaching delivered in a predominantly synchronous or real-time format.” These courses are designed not only to meet the global demand for green talent but also to help aspirants complete the courses without hindering their professional duties and responsibilities.

We focus on some of the stellar universities in the world that set these trends. In this special yearly issue of CEO Insights, we have featured an array of successful leaders who are alumni of reputed global universities. Do let us know your thoughts.
