President & Chief Consultant

Aleader’s journey can be mostly characterized by hard work, dedication, and a willingness to take risks and pursue new opportunities. But Angeline V. Teo’s is a journey of empowerment and empathy too, and that’s what makes her an inspiration. With over two decades of experience in people and management consulting for a diverse range of industries from tourism to finance, shipping to banking, and pharmaceutical to FMCG, to name a few; Angeline has also invested considerable effort as well to building an international speakers’ bureau since 2002; involved in building educational institutions in China and Vietnam; and in 2004, she was accredited as the Master Consultant Coach of PEPWORLDWIDE to serve the Asian markets. She has penetrated new markets in Asia within a short span of time and was offered the business opportunity to acquire the rights and intellectual properties for the entire Asian market in 2010 — when one of the principal partners had wanted to retire. Without hesitation, she embraced the opportunity and bought his total share to set up PEPWORLDWIDE ASIA with HQ in Singapore.

Since then, Angeline has become a key player in the industry in Asia, peaking executives’ performance, improving clients’ business efficiencies and focusing on preparing future leaders, grooming the next generation of executive coaches, and leaving a legacy behind. CEO Insights Asia is thrilled to see how she will continue to shape the future of PEPWORLDWIDE ASIA and beyond.

Tell us about your leadership approach and what has been your success mantra in your journey so far.

My leadership approach is characterized by several key qualities that have evolved over time. First and foremost, I strongly believe in empowering my team members to perform and driving personal accountability. This means giving them the tools and support they need to succeed, while also holding them responsible for their actions and outcomes.

Additionally, I believe in providing my team members with opportunities to lead and develop their own leadership skills. I nurture and coach them, providing space for them to grow and learn from their mistakes, while also encouraging them to contribute their own ideas and perspectives to the decision-making process.

What has been your success mantra in your professional journey, which helps you arrive at positive outcomes at tough times?

Tough times and challenges are inevitable. However, what sets successful people apart is their ability to handle such situations with grace and perseverance. For me, the key to achieving positive outcomes when faced with difficult times is to stay focused on the end result and reflect on the foundational principles that got me where I am. It's important to be mindful of the changing circumstances and adapt my approach accordingly.

In addition to this, I firmly believe in the power of spirituality and meditation to help me regain my inner strength and maintain a positive mindset. I take time to pray, reflect and rediscover my strengths to shift my paradigm and reposition myself toward success. It's also crucial to have resilience, tenacity, grit, and courage to bounce back and come back stronger from setbacks.

Known as 'The Workplace Doctor', Angeline possesses a sharp analytical ability to identify & address various business challenges, including people issues, conflicts, work-related stress, time management, & more

Over the course of my 40-year professional journey, I've learned that being a road warrior requires constant adaptation and a willingness to learn from past experiences. By staying true to my values, seeking inner peace, and cultivating a resilient mindset, I've been able to achieve positive outcomes even in the face of adversity.

Why is coaching necessary? What are the primary aspects you consider while offering the services?

Having a coach is like having an extra pair of eyes and an extra brain that can help you see things from a different perspective, bounce off ideas, and provide support and encouragement when needed. As a coach for many CEOs and presidents of organizations, I understand the importance of not only providing breadth but also depth in coaching programs and solutions. Before starting any coaching sessions, it's crucial to analyze and understand the challenges that the executives and organizations are facing and come up with tailored interventions and solutions that may require multiple sessions to implement. Simple tasks may not always be easy to implement, an having a coach there to motivate and challenge the executives can be essential to their success. The coach can help executives get organized, overcome procrastination, and push them to their limits to achieve their goals. In many cases, the coach is the only person the executive can confide in, as higher ranks often feel lonely and reluctant to share their problems. A coach can provide invaluable support, guidance, and encouragement to help executives break out of the cycle and reach their full potential.

What are the plans you have for the future?

Over the next three to five years, I will be involved in a lot of collaboration work, strategic partnerships, and business growth, with a focus on digitization, gamification, and addressing the challenges faced by different generations. Empowering women in the community, helping them gain confidence, and breaking the glass ceiling is also among my priorities.
