Arjun Mohan To Charge As New CEO of Byju's

According to persons familiar with the situation, embattled edtech company Byju's has recruited Arjun Mohan as its India chief executive, replacing Mrinal Mohit. The decision was made internally. Mohit is quitting the company after nearly ten years. He worked closely with creator Byju Raveendran.

This comes at a time when Byju’s is in the middle of reorganising its businesses in India as well as abroad.  The source reported that on September 11 that Byju’s is planning to sell its subsidiaries Great Learning and Epic as part of a plan to clear the $1.2 billion term loan B it had raised in 2021. Mohan, who has been working with Raveendran in recent weeks, was initially looking after the international business of the firm. He has been given the India CEO hat amid a series of changes at Byju’s, as per economic times.

Byju's is a worldwide educational technology firm based in Bangalore, India. Byju Raveendran and Divya Gokulnath launched it in 2011. Byju's was worth $5.1 billion as of September 2023. The firm claims to have over 150 million registered students as of April 2023.
