Lauren Blasco, Principal and Head of ESG at AC Ventures, has officially been accepted into the Carbon Centre of Excellence (CCoE) of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC). Blasco has agreed to a five-year term as an official advisor to public and private stakeholders across the CCoE on how to develop, introduce, and expand voluntary carbon markets, according to a statement from AC Ventures on July 11.

"It is an honour for me to join the ASEAN-BAC Centre of Excellence for Carbon. It is a rare chance to influence and direct the development of Indonesia's and the ASEAN region's voluntary and compliance carbon markets, according to Blasco.

She considers these carbon markets to be a vital tool in the fight against global warming and in ensuring a sustainable future for all.

Together, I am confident that we can have a significant positive impact on our environment, economies, and communities. "I look forward to collaborating with local, regional, and international partners to create effective and equitable carbon market solutions that can catalyse change and drive real, tangible progress," she added. With the goal of assisting ASEAN's efforts towards economic integration, ASEAN-BAC was established and officially launched in April 2003.

As a result, the main goal of its activities is to encourage international cooperation in business and policy. Business executives, market participants, and regulators should have a better understanding of carbon markets thanks to the ASEAN CCoE.
