5 Key CTO Appointments in Asia for October 2025

 In today’s business landscape, a CTO serves as a strategic leader who fosters innovation and growth by aligning technological advancements with the company's goals. They are responsible for overseeing the technology strategy of an organization, managing research and development initiatives, and directing the integration of new technologies to secure a competitive advantage.

Below are the five key CTO appointments in Asia for October 2025.

Flow Digital Infrastructure Appoints Ken Marron as CTO 

imageFlow Digital Infrastructure, a developer and operator of data centres in the Asia-Pacific region backed by PAG investment firm, has appointed Ken Marron as its chief technology officer (CTO) to oversee the technology operations company-wide

Based in Tokyo, Ken possesses more than 30 years of significant experience in construction and architecture across Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and Europe, particularly within the data center and real estate industries.

Before joining Flow, he served as the general manager of the data center division at CapitaLand in Japan. He has held various leadership roles at data center developers and operators, such as NextDC and Yondr, and has been focused on data center initiatives in Japan since 2001. Prior to his time in Japan, Ken worked for a decade with Takenaka Komuten in London, contributing to projects throughout Europe.

Flow has recently announced the development of its new data centre located in the Central Tokyo region. Since its founding in 2021, the company has established a portfolio of 11 assets in Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and Malaysia, with more than 193 megawatts of existing and projected IT capacity.

Pos Malaysia Berhad Appoints Shahrin Oli Mohamed as CTO

imagePos Malaysia Berhad, the country’s postal and parcel service provider, has appointed Shahrin Oli Mohamed as its new group chief technology officer, starting from 20 October 2025. She takes over from Rahavendra, who was previously the group chief digital & transformation officer

In her new position, Shahrin oversees the company's overall technology strategy, promotes digital innovation, and expedites the modernization of Pos Malaysia's core IT systems. Her appointment is a significant move towards reinforcing the company’s role as a leading logistics and e-commerce facilitator. She reports directly to Charles Brewer, the Group CEO.

Shahrin has over 20 years of rich international experience in technology leadership, digital transformation, and IT management across various sectors, such as energy and fleet solutions. She comes to Pos Malaysia from Gartner Gulf, where she held the position of Executive Partner, advising boards and C-suite executives in the MENA region, Africa, and India. While at Gartner Gulf, she led transformative projects in digital strategy, data analytics, innovation, and technology integration across a range of industries.

Shahrin earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Manchester and holds a Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons) from Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Flip Names Mohammed Alabsi as CTO

imageFlip, the largest independent fintech group in Indonesia, has named Mohammed Alabsi as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Alabsi previously led engineering efforts at Amazon and brings significant global tech expertise.

He dedicated more than ten years at Amazon in Seattle, contributing to the founding teams of the company’s AWS, Advertising, and B2B Commerce divisions.

Following that, he took on senior tech leadership roles in Indonesia and has been actively involved as an angel investor and tech advisor throughout the region.

Established in 2015, Flip has transformed from a simple interbank transfer service into a fully-fledged financial platform that caters to over 16 million users and countless businesses.

The platform now offers a range of services, including international remittances, bill payments, lifestyle solutions, and business offerings through Flip for Business and Flip Globe.

Microsoft India & South Asia Onboard Dahnesh Dilkhush as CTO

imageMicrosoft has named Dahnesh Dilkhush as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for India and South Asia. In this capacity, Dahnesh Dilkhush will oversee Microsoft’s technology strategy and innovation roadmap throughout the region. His primary focus is on promoting cloud adoption, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital transformation efforts to support organizations and governments in their digital journeys

With a rich background in technology leadership and enterprise solutions, Dilkhush work closely with industry partners, public sector organizations, and startups to enhance Microsoft’s goal of establishing a secure, inclusive, and digitally resilient ecosystem. His appointment highlights Microsoft’s ongoing dedication to fostering innovation and promoting technological advancement in one of its vital global markets.

Marco Pieters as ASML’s Chief Technology Officer

imageASML Holding NV (ASML) has named Marco Pieters as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, who will report to President and Chief Executive Officer, Christophe Fouquet.  Pieters brings over 25 years of experience at ASML, having most recently served as Executive Vice President for the product area Applications, and has a proven history in technology leadership.

Additionally, ASML's Supervisory Board has revealed its plan to appoint Pieters to the Board of Management during the company's next Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for April 22, 2026.

The Supervisory Board also plans to reappoint Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Roger Dassen for another four-year term, and Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Frédéric Schneider-Maunoury for a two-year term effective from the 2026 AGM. Marco Pieters takes the role of CTO immediately.
