Aryani emphasized the significance of providing comprehensive services and protection assurances for Indonesian migrant workers participating in the SSW program.

“If we cooperate, there must certainly be clear added value for the interests of Indonesian migrant workers. One of them is the protection aspect,” she says.

She also requested IM Japan to oversee the reception and support of Indonesian migrant workers upon their arrival in Japan, encompassing transportation, guidance, and the presence of responsive personnel to offer prompt assistance in the event of issues.

This oversight encompasses intervention with employers and the resolution of various issues. Aryani emphasized the importance of having clear guidelines for funding placement, in addition to ensuring protection.

All expenses associated with the placement procedure should be clear and fully disclosed from the onset, including delineation of cost obligations between migrant workers and employers.

“With this cooperation, the scheme we are promoting is government to private, or G to P, where on the Indonesian side it is carried out by the Ministry and on the Japanese side by IM Japan,” she says.
