It accommodates a population of nearly 32,000 individuals, predominantly from the Kinh and Muong ethnic communities. Presently, the region hosts four secondary schools, four primary schools, and four preschools, catering to a total of 5,676 students. Despite these educational facilities, deficiencies in infrastructure persistently hinder advancements in modernizing and broadening access to education in the area.

The upcoming school facility will cover an area of 11,000 square meters and will include various buildings such as a three-story administrative building, a three-story classroom block, a three-story specialized subject building, a single-story multi-purpose hall, and a three-story canteen and dormitory equipped with modern amenities.

In his address, Prime Minister Chinh emphasized the consistent prioritization of education and training by the Party and State as a vital national objective. He highlighted the crucial role of education and training in ethnic minority and mountainous regions, underscoring the necessity of targeted infrastructure investments to ensure equitable access. He observed that the Politburo has approved the establishment of 248 boarding schools at the primary and secondary levels in border communes throughout the country, with 16 designated for Thanh Hoa.
