A recent report revealed a concerning 30 percent surge in cyberattacks worldwide in Q2 2024 compared to the
previous year, with Asia bearing the brunt. Kuwait has witnessed firsthand how damaging these incidents can be. The Health Ministry was recently targeted, prompting widespread system outages across several hospitals, disruption of the Ministry of Health website, and interruptions to the Sahel healthcare app. Although the ministry, aided by state security agencies, successfully contained the breach, the event underscored the vulnerability of critical infrastructure. In response, the government has urged organizations across sectors to fortify their security measures to prevent similar disruptions.
