Country Manager

Great leadership doesn’t always arrive with fanfare. Often, it is defined by patience, clarity of purpose, and the quiet determination to build something meaningful. In today’s fastpaced technology landscape, where the emphasis is too often on speed and scale, true leaders distinguish themselves by thinking long-term. They nurture cultures, shape teams, and measure success not only by revenue but by relevance and resilience. Nowhere is this more evident than in Indonesia, a digital powerhouse in Southeast Asia where cloud technology has become central to enterprise transformation. Amid fierce competition and rapid innovation, Anissa Sharmanti, Country Manager of PT Bespin Global Indonesia (Bespin Global), has emerged as a leader whose impact extends beyond business metrics.

With over two decades of experience in the technology industry, Anissa has shaped her career through a series of meaningful milestones. Before joining Bespin Global, she spearheaded numerous cloud transformation initiatives, built agile go-tomarket teams, and collaborated closely with leading cloud and software providers across the region, with recognition from the industry in 2021 as one of the selected Asia Women in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) by Channel Asia.

Since taking the helm at Bespin Global, Anissa has guided the company from market entry to a thriving business with nearly $10 million in annual revenue, achieved in just under three years. More importantly, she has ensured the company reached profitability, a rare feat for newcomers in such a dynamic market. For Anissa, however, the real accomplishment lies not in the numbers but in building a sustainable enterprise. Her focus remains on people, culture and vision, foundations that turn momentum into lasting impact. Let’s hear more from her.

What key factors do you consider when tailoring your solutions to meet the unique needs of each client? Every recommendation begins with a deep understanding of the client’s overarching goals. It is not just about meeting technical specifications but aligning with their broader business ambitions, market challenges, and stage of digital maturity. We evaluate how cloud and AI technologies can deliver tangible value, whether by driving operational efficiency, enriching customer experiences, or enabling smarter use of data. As an interest in AI and Generative AI (GenAI) continues to rise across Indonesia, we have taken a proactive role in helping clients adopt these innovations thoughtfully, ensuring that integration is both secure and strategically aligned within their cloud infrastructure. What sets Bespin Global apart is our ability to execute our proven global expertise that is being recognized by a worldwide IT research and advisory firms like Gartner into locally relevant solutions, thoughtfully tailored to the unique needs of the Indonesian market.

How would you describe your leadership philosophy, and what principles or frameworks guide the way you lead? My leadership approach is built on a foundation of clarity, empowerment, and unwavering integrity, all aligned with a shared sense of company purpose to create impact on enterprises. I believe in setting an ambitious vision and then granting my team the autonomy to execute with confidence. I cultivate a collaborative culture that values experimentation and accountability, encouraging continuous learning, particularly in fields of cloud adoption like AI, Gen (adjust the space) AI, and cloud security. As a leader, I prioritize staying closely connected to the market, support my team to be able to help solve our customers’ problems, and driving our company vision.

Transparency is essential to my approach. We foster an open and respectful communication culture, ensuring that progress is constantly monitored and challenges or opportunities are identified early, allowing us to act swiftly and effectively. This approach has resulted a zero percent employee turnover, which is a rare case this day.

What key qualities do you prioritize when evaluating new candidates? We operate in a fast-evolving industry, so I highly value candidates who are curious, eager to learn, fast response, adaptable, and proactive, especially in emerging fields like AI, cloud-native development, and cybersecurity. While technical skills are important, what truly stands out is a positive mindset, and a passion for solving customers’ problems. In Indonesia, we are particularly focused on nurturing local talent who are committed to building their careers in technology and contributing to the country’s digital adoption.

How do you stay informed about the current industry trends to guide your organization toward the future success? I remain actively involved in industry events, global tech forums, and partner networking sessions with leading cloud providers. I also monitor advancements in AI and its adoption across various sectors, recognizing that AI is not just a trend but a driving force for business model innovation. At Bespin Global, we hold regular knowledge-sharing sessions with our global counterpart across different countries as part of our Learn-Do-Share culture and engage directly with clients to stay attuned to the evolving needs of the Indonesian market. This approach keeps us agile and ensures we stay ahead of the curve.

What is the future you are working towards? We are positioning Bespin Global as a leading driver of cloud and AI adoption in the country. Our mission is to assist businesses, ranging from large enterprises to fast-growing startups, in accelerating innovation in a secure and sustainable manner. We are expanding our AI and data capabilities, enhancing our automation solutions, and making ongoing investments in the development of local talent. In the long term, I envision us playing a pivotal role in shaping Indonesia’s cloudfirst, AI-driven economy.

With your extensive experience in the industry, what guidance would you offer to aspiring leaders in this field? Continuously evolve to stay ahead in the market. The tech industry requires both vision and resilience. It is important to balance strategy with empathy and lead by example. Embrace AI and emerging technologies not just as tools, but as opportunities to make a meaningful impact. Above all, build strong relationships with your team, partners, and customers because trust is the cornerstone of enduring leadership, particularly in a dynamic and value-driven-relationship focus market like Indonesia.
