Anubhav Dayal

Founder & Director

In a world where capital often chases speed; there are visionaries who slow it down just enough to give it purpose. They see finance not as a race to returns, but as a rhythm that can move societies forward to make profit and to invest meaning.

One of the few leaders working on this balance between markets and meaning is Anubhav Dayal. He is currently the Founder and Director of Soach Global Corporation Limited, the Hong Kong-based group that created the Soach Global Opportunities Fund, a flagship multi-strategy, closed end fund domiciled in Mauritius which helps global investors to connect with opportunities in markets, sectors and economies.

An alumnus of the University of Hong Kong and Amity Business School, who completed his BSc. (Honours) Statistics at Hindu College, earned an LLB from Delhi University while at HSBC, holds a Professional Certificate in FinTech from HKU, and later served at Société Générale Private Banking in Hong Kong, he has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of finance, law, and governance.

Being mindful of how capital can transform communities, Anubhav has built a career led by integrity and vision. He has been at the forefront of initiatives both at Soach Global and globally to combine global strategy and local impact i.e. investing in companies and instruments that not only creates value but also facilitate the greater good.

Anubhav’s leadership philosophy is based on three pillars, which include transparency, accountability and long-term vision. Through a culture of good finance and good growth, he makes Soach Global more than an investment house, rather an engine of intentional global development.

We are delighted to engage in an exclusive interview with Anubhav, who takes us through his academic and leadership journey.

Remain curious, understand the deeper purpose behind what you learn, and translate that knowledge into meaningful actions

Which professional milestones have defined your professional journey?

I began my professional journey with a company in Delhi that provided operational support to various banks, followed by a role at HSBC where I contributed to product development, risk management, and innovation.

My career then took me to Bangalore to oversee retail lending operations and later to Hong Kong, where I led NRI services for the Asia-Pacific region, introducing systems that allowed NRIs to open Demat accounts and apply for IPOs remotely, a notable innovation at the time.

Throughout my journey, I have focused on leveraging technology within legal and regulatory frameworks to enhance transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity in financial services.

My work has also emphasized rural empowerment, particularly encouraging women’s participation in agriculture, and developing initiatives like the Virtual Food Grain Exchange- a platform designed to enable transparent, efficient, and fair trading of farm produce.

How does the Soach Global’s vision and the VFGA initiative align with your family’s mission to “bring a smile on every farmer’s face”?

Our initiatives have consistently focused on creating large-scale social and economic impact by supporting institutions that empower communities. Through investing in organizations like the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and Protean e-Governance, we’ve advanced transparency, digitization, and financial inclusion across sectors.

I won the third prize in Manthan Ideathon – a competition organised by Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI), in association with market infrastructure Institutions. To implement the idea of Virtual Food Grain Asset (“VFGA”) that has been recognised and rewarded by the Capital Market Regulator – SEBI, I am setting up a Virtual Food Grain Exchange (“VFGE”).

This will serve the interest of not only large pool of farmers pan-India but also masses of consumers of food grains. This mission will bring transparency, ensure fair price discovery and generate local employment.

The model also integrates ESG principles which encourages sustainable practices, water conservation, and community-led environmental stewardship. By engaging universities and students in real-world problem-solving, we’re nurturing innovation at the grassroots level.

Together, these initiatives reflect our mission to drive inclusive progress, strengthen rural economies, and bring a genuine smile to every farmer’s face.

What were the most transformative learning experiences during your time at University of Hong Kong?

Studying at the University of Hong Kong was a truly transformative experience that blended academic rigor with global exposure. The diverse faculty which included industry leaders and global experts, brought valuable real-world perspectives to the classroom.

The evening master’s program allowed me to balance work and study effectively, while project-based learning fostered collaboration and problem-solving among professionals from various sectors. Interacting with peers from countries such as Switzerland, India, and China, enriched discussions on international finance, corporate law, and governance.

Overall, it was an experience that strengthened my professional foundation, enhanced cross-cultural understanding, and broadened my global outlook.

What advice would you offer to the upcoming leaders?

I believe leadership begins with continuous learning. I still see myself as a learner, constantly exploring new ideas and perspectives. My advice to aspiring leaders would be to remain curious, understand the deeper purpose behind what you learn, and translate that knowledge into meaningful actions that serve the greater good and create lasting impact for the masses.
