Thawipong began his career with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Mahidol University, working as a systems engineer at Kanoksin. He gained IT insights and mentorship from Tawat Poonyakanok. After six years, he held roles at international tech firms like Veritas, Symantec, EMC, and VMware. At Nutanix, he built the business in Thailand, growing the team from two to twenty-five members. Currently positioned as CEO of Innoco, he aims to make it a leading provider of innovative technology solutions. Let’s hear more from him. 

Could you share the unique experiences that Mahidol University in Thailand offers and what you learned from the campus beyond academics?

Mahidol University was my dream university since high school, and spending nearly four years there pursuing my first bachelor's degree provided unforgettable experiences. During the first year, all students from various faculties were required to reside and study at the Salaya campus, fostering relationships and cross-faculty interactions. Mahidol also promoted club participation, offering a dedicated building for extracurricular activities.  

I joined the conservation club, where I learned about teamwork, goal achievement, and leadership skills from the club president. In my third year, I had the honor of serving as the club president. This experience at Mahidol University was pivotal in shaping who I am today.

At Innoco, we are a leading provider of innovative technology solutions, offering professional services to our customers. As a systems integrator, we focus on three key areas: Technology, People, and Customers. Continuously learning and understanding emerging technologies is crucial for positively benefiting our customers. With the rapid pace of technological advancements today, it’s essential to ensure our team is prepared to serve as trusted advisors. Within our organization, fostering a dynamic culture is imperative. This culture allows our team to embrace technological changes and ensures that our customers' IT environments evolve seamlessly to leverage new technologies.

Can you describe your leadership approach? What guidelines or methodologies do you follow as a leader?

I believe a one-size-fits-all leadership approach is ineffective. Leadership styles need to be adaptable to the ever-changing dynamics within the organization and among team members. At Innoco, I currently use Strategic Leadership and Coaching Leadership methods to guide and uplift the team, supporting our future business growth. However, it is essential to establish a solid leadership foundation, foster a positive culture, and encourage teamwork. These core principles are vital and remain my commitment throughout our journey.

How do you stay informed about ongoing industry trends to guide your organization towards the future?

As technology providers in business, it is our responsibility to stay updated on new technologies. Information is readily available from various sources. Personally, I frequently read articles on LinkedIn, blogs & social media, and attend IT vendor seminars. Since my company sells technology to customers, I also research and analyze industry  trends to offer informed recommendations. Additionally, I network with industry professionals and participate in webinars & conferences to stay abreast of the latest developments and innovations in our field.

What is the future destination you are headed towards, and in light of your strong experience within the industry, what advice would you give to upcoming industry leaders?

My aspiration for Innoco is to evolve beyond being a mere technology provider into a company that excels at delivering tangible customer outcomes through innovative technology solutions. This transformation requires collaborative efforts beyond myself, focusing on how we can consistently enhance and adapt our offerings to meet evolving client needs. Our goal is to be recognized not just for our technical expertise, but for the measurable value we bring to our clients' businesses.

Drawing from my industry experience, I advise upcoming leaders to establish a robust foundation rooted in core values like integrity and customercentricity. Embrace a growth mindset that welcomes change and fosters continuous learning amidst technological advancements.
