The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) is set to introduce a new digital platform that will connect small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with larger corporations within the emirate, as part of its comprehensive strategy to empower the private sector and enhance economic competitiveness.

This announcement was made during a media roundtable on Monday, where Shamis Al Dhaheri, the Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Chamber, presented several new initiatives aimed at supporting SMEs, increasing international reach, and fostering innovation through data-driven policy advocacy.

In reply to the business community's requests for greater integration between SMEs and large companies, Al Dhaheri mentioned that the Chamber is in the process of developing an online platform to enhance collaboration beyond conventional business events.

Al Dhaheri  says, “We are looking at building an electronic platform that enables large numbers of small and medium-sized companies to work with large companies and see what are the opportunities for cooperation directly. The main scaling up can happen through having the electronic module.”

This comes alongside a new bulk buying programme that allows SMEs to access procurement opportunities at competitive pricing. “We also have a special programme for SMEs to help them build their capabilities,” he added. “We want to build more synergies when it comes to the collaboration between big corporations in Abu Dhabi and the SME sector.”

After the launch of the Chamber’s first international office in Poland, there are plans for further overseas expansions. Although Al Dhaheri did not disclose which countries are next, he assured that nations with strong trade connections to the UAE will be prioritized.

“We have additional offices that will be opened shortly. I don’t believe we can reveal the details, as it would spoil the surprise,” says Al Dhaheri.

The choice of Poland for the office was based on its advantageous geographic position and its long-established economic relationship with the UAE, positioning it as a key entry point into European markets.
