Corporate lawyer Ankit Jaiswal has assumed the role of head of legal and compliance for the Southeast Asia (SEA) region at CarDekho Southeast Asia. Jaiswal expressed his anticipation in handling the ever-changing legal environment, spearheading strategic endeavors, ensuring legal compliance and upholding corporate governance to support the ongoing prosperity of the company in the lively Southeast Asian market. Prior to this, Jaiswal held the position of head of the legal team at ClearTax, a prominent fintech SaaS platform in India.
Jaiswal has extensive experience as a corporate counsel, specializing in areas such as strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, fintech, digital, private equity, joint ventures, capital raising, and initial public offerings. He is also well-versed in corporate commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, litigation, IP, data protection and ESG matters. His expertise spans general corporate affairs, cross-border transactions, and adherence to regulatory frameworks, including the structuring of new businesses in domestic and international jurisdictions. Furthermore, he has collaborated with major tech companies like Amazon and Paytm, providing legal guidance on M&A and investment transactions.
Jaiswal has previously been employed at AZB & Partners, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. and L&L Partners. CarDekho Southeast Asia, based in Singapore, is developing the largest auto-tech financial services business in the region. Operating under the brand names Carbay, OTO, Carmudi and Zigwheels, the company has a presence across Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia.
