To discuss future security cooperation among member states, defense officials from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) are expected together for two days later this month in Qingdao, China.

China's Ministry of National Defense Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang stated that the first meeting of the SCO's international military cooperation institutions for 2025 will take place in Qingdao from March 26–27.

Members of the SCO's member nations' defense ministries will discuss how to improve their future defense and security collaborations.

The SCO is renowned for its strong counterterrorism structure, the Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure (RATS), and has 10 member states, including China, Russia, and India. This autumn, China, the SCO's current rotating president, will host the leaders' summit in Tianjin as a sign of its dedication to furthering the organization's growth under the 'Shanghai Spirit.'

"The first meeting of international military cooperation organs of the SCO member states for 2025 will be held in Qingdao city of east China's Shandong province from March 26 to 27," stated senior colonel Zhang Xiaogang.

China, Russia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus are the 10 nations that make up the SCO.

The Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure (RATS) is a potent counterterrorism tool within the SCO.

The SCO leaders' summit is scheduled to take place in China this year.

The summit will take place in the Chinese port city of Tianjin in the fall of this year, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi informed the media here on March 7.
