Dongsuh Foods is broadening its Kanu Barista capsule coffee range as the growth of local coffee culture boosts the demand for accessible and budget-friendly coffee choices suited to a wider array of consumer tastes.
In early 2023, the company launched the Kanu Barista brand in the premium capsule coffee market, leveraging over 50 years of experience in coffee production.

The brand has grown its range of specialized capsules and coffee machines, providing consumers with increased options in roast profiles, origins, and serving styles.
Kanu Barista now provides 18 different capsule types, including light, medium, and dark roasts, in addition to decaffeinated and single-origin selections.
“Kanu Barista is a product that allows domestic consumers to conveniently enjoy the Americano-style coffee they prefer most with consistent quality”. “Going forward, based on Kanu Barista’s expertise, we will continue to introduce a variety of capsule coffee products to meet consumers’ increasingly diverse coffee preferences.”
In June, the firm launched two new capsules — Lively Breeze and Infinite Peak — to enhance its range for iced coffee.

Lively Breeze is the most lightly roasted capsule in the Kanu Barista collection, featuring vibrant acidity and a rejuvenating character. It combines naturally dried Ethiopian beans, providing berry-like sweetness and wine-like fragrances.
Infinite Peak has a richer body, accompanied by a stronger bitterness and nutty notes. Crafted from Colombian beans, it is intended to preserve its robust flavor when served chilled and provides a delicate, smoky aftertaste.
The company stated that Kanu Barista capsules include 9.5 grams of coffee beans, which is 1.7 times more than what is found in standard espresso capsules, to provide consumers with convenient cafe-style Americano beverages with robust flavor and aroma. Dongsuh Foods has concentrated on the technology supporting its capsule machines. The equipment features a dual-nozzle bypass mechanism that draws espresso and water through distinct nozzles and comes with a specific button for iced coffee.

It has broadened its collection of machines with the upscale Kanu Barista Urban, sleek Kanu Barista Breeze, and small Kanu Barista Pebble.
It recently introduced the Kanu Barista Oasis, a high-end model that accommodates milk-based drinks like cafe latte and cappuccino.
The company has organized face-to-face events to allow consumers to sample its products. Last year, it ran a capsule coffee tasting venue in Bukchon Hanok Village in central Seoul, allowing visitors to try various capsules and get tailored suggestions. A pop-up store was also established in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, to promote its capsules.
