Dubai Launches New Route for Drone Parcel Delivery

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, in partnership with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department and Keeta Drone, has introduced a new drone delivery service in Nad Al Sheba.

Food orders from Avenue Mall's restaurants and cafés will be delivered to Nad Al Sheba residents by drones through a collection point at the Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque.

This launch represents a significant step in Dubai's initiatives to position itself as a worldwide center for intelligent transportation and sophisticated air logistics services.

The path was officially launched by Mohammed Abdullah Linjawy, Director General of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, with the first order being delivered by drone to the Nad Al Sheba region.

The event was graced by high-ranking officials from governmental bodies and key collaborators in Dubai, such as Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, the Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, Bader Buhannad, the Director General of Dubai Silicon Oasis, Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, and Sayed Ismail Mohammed Al Hashimi, Acting Executive Director of the Corporate Support Services Sector at Dubai Municipality.

Mohammed Abdullah Linjawi said, "This initiative reflects Dubai's commitment to embracing innovative technologies that enhance daily life. Keeta Drone presently runs four routes in Dubai Silicon Oasis. The inclusion of the Nad Al Sheba route marks a substantial growth of the company's network in the UAE, offering quick, contactless, and environmentally friendly delivery services to both residential and commercial zones.

This project operates within the guidelines of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and showcases how partnerships between the public and private sectors can revolutionize the urban logistics landscape while upholding the highest safety and compliance standards.
