The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs has issued a strong caution against individuals or groups attempting to exploit the current international conflict, declaring that such actions will not be condoned.

He has also urged all citizens of Malaysia, including consumers, merchants, business leaders, and organizations, to back the KITA GEMPUR Movement, which aims to address manipulation and discrepancies for the benefit of society.
Simultaneously, there are 2,400 enforcement officers throughout the country who are vigilantly ready to perform in-person inspections and surveillance as directed by the ministry.
As part of ongoing initiatives to promote energy sustainability, the ministry is planning to strictly enforce the prohibition on selling and buying RON95 petrol to foreign-registered vehicles.
Additionally, a system of regulations governing the sale of diesel for land transport vehicles will be established in Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan, categorized by vehicle type, effective April 1st.
“The strictest enforcement action will be taken with no compromise,” he says.
The government department will persist in enhancing enforcement measures to prevent unauthorized distribution and illegal importation, while also maintaining a consistent availability of regulated goods amidst the uncertain geopolitical conditions stemming from the escalating tensions in West Asia.
“Through OPS TIRIS 4.0, the ministry will strengthen integrated strategic cooperation with the Border Control and Protection Agency, the police and other enforcement agencies to close any gaps that allow leakages and abuse,” he adds.

As the governing body tasked with overseeing the distribution of regulated products, the ministry has additionally devised more assertive approaches to mitigate any possible interruptions in the worldwide fuel supply that may impact the nation's economy.
“This ongoing effort is in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s call to ensure the country’s energy supply remains secure and sufficient to meet public needs,” he says.
A variety of strategic initiatives will be employed to guarantee that the public continues to have ready access to essential supplies.
Additionally, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) has recently implemented a thorough enforcement campaign aimed at curbing fuel leakage and illicit trading, all while prioritizing the consistent availability of regulated goods amidst escalating geopolitical uncertainties within the Middle East region. The efforts of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs are in accordance with the directive from the Prime Minister to protect the nation's energy supplies and ensure that Malaysian citizens can still enjoy subsidized fuel.

KPDN will rigorously implement a prohibition on the sale and acquisition of Petrol RON95 for foreign-registered vehicles starting on April 1, 2026, as part of its enforcement measures. The primary objective of this policy is to safeguard subsidies for the exclusive benefit of Malaysian citizens.
Special regulations will be put in place for Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan. Authorized gasoline stations are required to restrict the sale of diesel for land vehicles based on the type of vehicle, allowing only 50, 100, or 150 liters per transaction. The ministry aims to enhance coordinated efforts with the Border Control and Protection Agency, the Royal Malaysia Police, and other enforcement entities to address any vulnerabilities that may lead to the misuse of subsidies as part of Operation TIRIS 4.0.
