L.E.K. Consulting, a global strategic consultancy, has bolstered its Healthcare Advisory practice in Asia by adding Hayato Akagawa. Based in Tokyo, Akagawa brings over 15 years of expertise, focusing on portfolio strategies, market access strategies, and sales model transformation in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. His career includes senior positions at major industry players such as Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer and roles at investment bank Locust Walk and the Big Four consulting firm PwC.
Before joining L.E.K. Consulting as a Principal, Akagawa served as Vice President at Locust Walk, where he developed and managed client relationships with major Japanese pharmaceutical companies, and as Director of Healthcare Advisory at PwC, where he led diverse projects, from portfolio strategy and market access to go-to-market models for new products, in various segments including rare disease, oncology and immunology.
Akagawa also brings to L.E.K. Consulting a proven background in brand and portfolio management from his roles at Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer, where he managed and grew multi-billion yen portfolios and executed successful product launches.
