During discussions at the G20 Summit in South Africa, Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka discussed key national priorities, such as the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program and the food self-sufficiency drive. During the initial day of the conference in Johannesburg, he conducted discussions with officials from Ethiopia, Angola, Vietnam, and Finland.

"During the talks, I gave the spotlight to several priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto, such as the MBG program, the natural resource downstreaming policy, the food self-sufficiency drive, and some others," Gibran remarked at the Johannesburg Expo Center.

He mentioned that he would present the results of the talks to President Prabowo to decide on future actions.

"We will promptly brief the President on the meetings as soon as we arrive in the motherland," he said.

Airlangga Hartarto, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, verified that Gibran had informal meetings with leaders from Ethiopia, Vietnam, Angola, and Finland.

Hartarto announced in Johannesburg over the weekend that both Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço have expressed a keen interest in visiting Indonesia next year to explore potential opportunities for cooperation, specifically in the field of agriculture.

He mentioned that the vice president also had meetings with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and Rebeca Grynspan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

Gibran spoke during all three primary meetings at the G20 Summit on November 22-23, emphasizing Indonesia's views on development, climate change, economy, artificial intelligence, as well as energy and food security.

During the second meeting, he discussed the MBG program, which was initiated on January 6, as a strategic effort to enhance food security, upgrade the quality of human resources, and boost local economies.

"Indonesia believes that the future must be built on justice: justice in how we govern new technologies, justice in how we use natural resources, and justice for our workers," he remarked.
