Jewel Changi and Trip.com Forge Partnership to Boost Global Tourism

Separator

Jewel Changi Airport and Trip.com have entered into a strategic three-year partnership designed to enhance travel promotion. This collaboration merges top-notch leisure experiences with premier travel services, promising an array of exciting new programs for travelers. Jewel will tap into Trip.com’s extensive global network to attract a broader international audience, boosting travel to Singapore and increasing visitors to Jewel. Meanwhile, as Trip.com extends its global reach, the partnership will help elevate its brand visibility among Jewel’s diverse mix of international and local visitors.

This partnership is inked against the backdrop of Jewel’s strong growth trajectory, where overall footfall has increased by almost 15% and the number of foreign visitors by more than 20%, for the period from January to June 2024 compared with the previous year. In the month of August, Jewel saw record visitorship over the National Day weekend, registering more than 1 million in footfall traffic.

Until October 7, Trip.com is hosting a one-of-a-kind interactive travel-themed pop-up event called Traveller’s Wonderland, set amidst the lush indoor greenery of Jewel. This unique experiential showcase will take visitors on a global journey without leaving Jewel. Featuring four displays highlighting iconic attractions from China, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Thailand—popular destinations for both Singaporean and international travelers—the event will offer glimpses into these vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes, providing captivating photo opportunities for all.

As part of their partnership, Jewel Changi Airport will launch special campaigns on Trip.com aimed at increasing visitor traffic to Canopy Park and boosting spending at Jewel’s premier retail offerings. Additionally, Jewel and Trip.com will debut a new Trip.com Light & Music Showcase in October, designed by renowned Los Angeles-based water feature designer WET. Inspired by Trip.com’s mission “to pursue the perfect trip for a better world,” the showcase will present a captivating narrative centered on travel, creating a mesmerizing visual and auditory experience that connects people from around the globe.

James Fong, CEO of Jewel Changi Airport Development, said, “We are pleased to partner Trip.com in our efforts to drive tourism in Singapore and promote Jewel as a must-visit destination to international travellers through Trip.com’s global reach. The synergy between our two brands presents opportunities for strategic collaboration and we are confident of solidifying Jewel’s position as a premier destination for travellers through the various co-marketing initiatives”.

Bo Sun, Chief Marketing Officer, Trip.com Group, said: “The Jewel Rain Vortex is an iconic global attraction, and Trip.com is thrilled to partner with Jewel Changi Airport to create immersive new experiences that elevate the travel journey. This collaboration will allow us to engage with and delight visitors of all ages from Singapore and around the world, and we look forward to debuting this spectacular experience in October”.
