Laos Top Leader Urges Accelerating Organizational Reform

The Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, has urged for ongoing reforms and the optimization of state organizational structures to establish a more efficient, contemporary, and compact administrative system.
The leader emphasized the importance of additional efforts to establish a clean, robust, and capable political system that can adequately address the nation's development requirements.

During the 12th National Organizational and Personnel Work Meeting held in Vientiane, President Thongloun highlighted the significance of enhancing institutions and fostering leadership development.
He stated that enhancing organizational frameworks and human resources systems is crucial for fostering national development objectives and enhancing governance.
The President highlighted that personnel management is the cornerstone of all activities and a crucial element for the success of national development, stating that the effective execution of Party and state policies relies significantly on the quality of leadership and human resources across all tiers.
The gathering included Politburo member and Standing Member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, General Vilay Lakhamfong; Politburo member, Secretariat member, and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Committee, Sisay Leudetmounsone; as well as delegates from ministries, state agencies, provinces, and various sectors.

President Thongloun lauded the sector's accomplishments from the last five years, applauding initiatives aimed at enhancing leadership, governance, and institutional progress.
He mentioned that additional efforts were required to enhance the nation’s political system through improved personnel planning, leadership training, and efficient civil service administration.
President Thongloun referred to personnel work as “the foundation of all crucial tasks,” stating that the quality of human resources will influence the success or failure of development initiatives. He urged for ongoing enhancements in workforce planning and the cultivation of leadership and management staff equipped to tackle future challenges.
He also stressed that organizational changes would aid in bolstering economic oversight, social governance, and public service performance, while improving national defense and security.
The President emphasized the government's goal of setting up all 621 sub-districts (tasaeng) across the country by 2027, noting that they should operate as local hubs for executing policies, providing public services, and resolving community issues.

President Thongloun emphasized the significance of competitions focused on patriotism and development, stating that enhanced recognition and award mechanisms could foster innovation, boost productivity, and promote public engagement in national progress.
