L&T Secures Significant EPC Contract in Saudi Arabia

L&TL&T Construction, a division of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an engineering and infrastructure conglomerate, has secured a significant engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from Saudi Arabia. The company has been selected as the complete EPC contractor responsible for creating and implementing renewable energy generation and utility systems for the Amaala project, as per the company's announcement.

The financial specifics of the deal were not disclosed by the company. According to L&T's criteria, a contract ranging between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 crore falls under the category of a "major" deal. Amaala, situated in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Natural Reserve on Saudi Arabia's northwest coast, is an exclusive ultra-luxury destination. Upon completion, it will encompass 25 hotels and 900 luxurious residential units, including villas, apartments, and estate homes.

A consortium comprising Masdar, a prominent clean energy entity from the UAE, and French electricity utility EDF has signed the utility project's concession agreement with the Amaala developers. L&T has engaged in an EPC agreement with the project's sponsors, including Masdar and EDF.
