Leading South Asian online travel agency MakeMyTrip has partnered with thousands of hotels in the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe to offer discounted rates for visitors from the UAE.

Also, the business has teamed with well-known institutions to provide profitable airfare and lodging discounts. To reach a wider audience, MakeMyTrip has also started a loud marketing campaign called "Break the Booking Routine".

"We are delighted that our user-centricity and transparent pricing have won the hearts of travellers in the UAE, making us a preferred customer choice for flight bookings in the local OTA market. We are extending it further by targeting to offer the benefits of booking through a ‘one-stop-travel-shop’ for flight as well as hotel booking with attractive consumer-led offers and differentiated tech-led features,” said Saujanya Shrivastava, Chief Operating Officer of Flights and Gulf Cooperation Council, MakeMyTrip.

“Our experience of being a travel super-app in the diverse Indian market, and our strong tech stack, helps us understand the travel needs of users in the UAE better. With the launch of the industry-leading features and an innovative marketing campaign, we aim to reach out to a wider consumer base.”

Consumer research undertaken by MakeMyTrip in the UAE revealed that the consumers sought 'Flexibility at the time of booking' and were concerned about 'excessive cancellation charges'. According to the findings, the travel site has introduced a number of new features, including:

Travelers can reserve hotels in advance by paying just AED1 at the time of booking using Book @AED1. Travelers have the choice to pay the entire sum at a later time, closer to the check-in date, thanks to the function. The user can book a hotel and pay in-person there by using the Pay at Hotel option.

While booking a flight, the zero-cancellation option ensures coverage in the event of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstances. With the soon-to-be-available Price Lock function, users can pay a small fee to "lock" the price and return to a certain ticket price in the future. With the help of the virtual interlining feature, clever connection arrangements are made with many airlines to obtain the best prices.

MakeMyTrip has partnered with top financial institutions like Emirates NBD, ADCB, Emirates Islamic, Citi, American Express, and more to offer consumers-driven, time-limited deals on hotel and airfare reservations beginning on March 20. For ticket bookings, the company will provide discounts of up to 20% with a cap of AED200 ($54.4), while the hotel campaign will provide discounts of up to 40% with a cap of AED600.
