Party Chief Urges Military Logistics Sector to Lead Innovation

Party General Secretary To Lam emphasized that in the modern era, the military's logistics and technical division should be at the forefront of scientific and technological innovation. He stressed the importance of actively incorporating the latest advancements in human knowledge and utilizing them in the sector's growth, as well as in the nation's industrialization and modernization efforts.
The leader of the Party delivered a speech at an event organized by the General Department of Logistics - Technical Services of the Ministry of National Defense in Hanoi, during which the unit was honored with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

General Secretary Lam emphasized the important role played by past and present officers, soldiers, and staff in the military's logistics and technical division in aiding the remarkable accomplishments and historic triumphs of the courageous Viet Nam People's Army in furthering the revolutionary goals of the Party and the country.
He mentioned that during the time of renewal, especially in the past few years, the general department has effectively carried out its duty of offering strategic guidance to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence. This includes suggesting and executing plans to simplify, combine, and rearrange logistics and technical organizations and units in a consistent and cohesive way starting from the lower levels to the entire armed forces.
Additionally, the department has successfully executed various important projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall capacity. The leader of the Party urged the general department to uphold a proactive, creative, self-reliant, and resilient attitude, guaranteeing the timely and adequate provision of materials, weapons, and technical equipment for both regular and unexpected missions.

He also highlighted the importance of modernizing and enhancing logistical and technical support systems in the current environment, while also improving the quality of life and healthcare services for soldiers, in order to bolster overall combat capability. He emphasized the significance of anticipating and evaluating worldwide trends in military science, along with enhancing the utilization of technological advancements, innovation, and digital transformation in various aspects such as management, operations, design, manufacturing, maintenance, and modernization of weapons and technical equipment.
Focus should also be placed on the production of logistics supplies and technical materials.
It is crucial to prioritize weapon systems and equipment of strategic importance while also enhancing the quality of scientific research at both research institutions and training centers within the general department and throughout the military's logistics and technical sector. The Party leader emphasized the importance of prioritizing the well-being of service members, including their meals, housing, living conditions, and healthcare, especially for those located in isolated, border, and island regions.
General Secretary Lam expressed his belief in the General Department's future development, stating that it would continue to strengthen, maintain its proud traditions, promote unity, initiative, and creativity in all work areas, and effectively complete all assigned tasks, maintaining the trust of the Party, State, and people.

During the ceremony, General Secretary Lam, who is also the Secretary of the Central Military Commission, awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the general department in recognition of their remarkable accomplishments in training, combat readiness, army development, and national defense strengthening, which have contributed to the socialist construction and defense of the country on behalf of the Party and State leaders.
