President Prabowo Arrives in US for Trade, Gaza Summit

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Washington, D.C. to engage in discussions with leaders of US businesses, attend a summit focused on peace in Gaza, and participate in a scheduled one-on-one meeting with President Donald Trump.
Prabowo arrived at approximately noon local time following the landing of a Garuda Indonesia PK-GIF aircraft at Joint Base Andrews in Prince George's County, Maryland.

The individual was graciously greeted upon arrival at the aircraft steps by the Ambassador of Indonesia to the US, Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo, along with the Indonesian Defense Attaché, Air Marshal E. Wisoko Aribowo.
During his trip to the US, Prabowo has plans to engage with various American business organizations, participate in the inaugural Gaza Board of Peace summit, and engage in bilateral discussions with President Trump.
According to officials from Indonesia, one of the topics on the schedule involves the formalization of a reciprocal trade agreement, known as ART, with discussions having commenced in 2025.
During the journey from Jakarta, Prabowo was joined by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
Upon arrival, Prabowo, donning his iconic black peci cap, cordially acknowledged officials one by one, commencing with the Indonesian ambassador, then proceeding to greet the US Air Force commander and Indonesia's defense attaché.
He proceeded to board the official presidential vehicle alongside the Indonesian Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) and agents from the US Secret Service. Prabowo and his entourage traveled from Joint Base Andrews to accommodations located in the heart of Washington D.C.

The first-ever Peace summit on Gaza will be spearheaded by President Trump, the driving force behind this initiative. White House officials announced recently that the Board of Peace summit is set to take place on February 19, 2026, in Washington, D.C.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has also verified his participation in the upcoming Board of Peace summit. Indonesia became a member of the Board of Peace following the formal endorsement of its founding charter by Prabowo at the launch event held in Davos, Switzerland on January 22, 2026.

The list of signatories also includes the US as the leading participant, along with Hungary, Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan.
