
Putin May Visit India by End of 2025 as Trump Ups the Tariff Ante

Indian National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval was quoted by the news sources as saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to travel to India by the end of August.
Doval's trip to Moscow coincides with escalating US-Indian tensions after Trump levied a 50 percent tariff on New Delhi for its purchases of Russian oil.
Putin is anticipated to visit India as part of the yearly bilateral meeting between India and Russia. The Russian president will be visiting India for the first time since December 2021.
Putin and PM Modi are also anticipated to meet in China for the SCO Summit.

The Russian leader supported India's counterterrorism efforts during their most recent meeting, which took place prior to Operation Sindoor. Pakistani military assets, which were mostly of Chinese origin, were neutralized in major part by Russian platforms like as the Indo-Russian BrahMos joint venture and the S-400 missile defense system.
The topic of food security might potentially be discussed extensively at the India-Russia summit.
Putin recently claimed that Russia had expanded its exports of fertilizer to India at Modi's request.

In a related event, Putin and US President Donald Trump will meet in the coming days for the first summit between the two nations' leaders since 2021.
Putin is also expected to meet with Trump in the next few days, the Kremlin announced this week. The two parties are working on arranging a meeting, according to Russian President's Foreign Affairs Advisor Yuri Ushakov, who also stated that a location for the meeting has been decided upon and would be revealed later.
