InIn a historic move, the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Switzerland Tourism to strengthen collaboration in the tourism sector. The agreement, signed by CEO and Board Member of STA Fahd Hamidaddin and Director GCC at Switzerland Tourism Livio Gotz, marks a significant milestone as the first-of-its-kind collaboration between the two tourism entities.

The primary objectives of this MoU include fostering the development of the tourism industry, mutual promotion, and enabling collaborative tourism projects between Saudi Arabia and Switzerland. A key aspect of the partnership involves identifying joint marketing initiatives to showcase the unique attractions of each country, with a focus on specific sectors such as marine activities, culture and heritage, and rural tourism.

The strategic alliance also aims to leverage the latest technology in the industry to enhance the travel experience for visitors, fostering seamless journeys through increased cooperation between local tourism agencies and operators. The collaboration is set to promote both Saudi Arabia and Switzerland as leading destinations that cater to diverse tourist interests.

Fahd Hamidaddin expressed enthusiasm about the historic collaboration, emphasizing its potential to unlock growth opportunities for both countries. The partnership reflects the convergence of rich and diverse tourism landscapes, highlighting the importance of global cooperation in enhancing travel experiences.

STA and Switzerland Tourism will also organize joint events, exhibitions, and conferences in both nations to further tourism development, aligning with the goals outlined in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
