As part of Leapmotor's commitment to influencing the direction of mobility, Stellantis is scheduled to introduce the company's worldwide electric car lineup to India.

A new age of intelligent, environmentally friendly, and easily available electric vehicles for Indian consumers is being ushered in by Stellantis with this action, the business stated.

Stellantis' goal to spur innovation and increase its electric vehicle (EV) footprint in one of the automotive industries with the fastest rate of growth in the world is in line with the launch of the Leapmotor brand.

Stellantis' strategy, which prioritizes sustainability, aligns with Leapmotor's low-carbon transportation approach.

Leapmotor doubled its annual growth in 2024, delivering close to 300,000 automobiles.

Leap Motor was established in 2015 and has established a reputation for being innovative in the worldwide EV market. In 2024, the brand sold around 3 lakh cars worldwide, more than doubling its previous year's sales.

The cell-to-chassis (CTC) battery architecture, which incorporates the battery straight into the vehicle's structure to improve safety and space efficiency, is a major component of Leap Motor's technological advantage.

Its lineup consists of the small T03 hatchback and two SUVs, the C10 and the B10, which are equipped with active safety systems and smart driving technology. Even if the brand is not very well-known in India right now, Stellantis' support and its worldwide trajectory may help it gain recognition soon.

The timing seems ideal, as EV sales are constantly increasing and India is currently the third-largest automobile market in the world. Over 2 million EVs were sold across all categories in FY24, representing an 11 percent year-over-year increase in EV sales. Although Tata Motors is still the market leader in EV passenger cars, other competitors have gained ground due to rising demand for both reasonably priced and technologically advanced vehicles.

With Citroën and Jeep already operating in India, Stellantis views Leap Motor as a means of meeting the growing demand for EVs with lots of features. The business wants to provide "premium EVs for upwardly mobile consumers—vehicles that combine technology, comfort, and sustainability," according to Stellantis India CEO Shailesh Hazela.
