UAE to Partner with Telangana

The Telangana government announced that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has consented to collaborate in the development of Bharat Future City as a premier global city.

UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri met with the 'Telangana Rising' delegation, headed by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Touq Al Marri expressed that his national government would welcome the opportunity to collaborate with Telangana.

He proposed that the two administrations create a collaborative task force made up of officials from both sides to ensure the prompt execution of this initiative, as stated in a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) here.

The delegation explored possible avenues for collaboration in the state's extensive infrastructure initiatives, particularly the Bharat Future City.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented the Telangana Rising 2047 vision alongside a strategic plan aimed at converting the state into a $3 trillion economy by the year 2047.

He emphasized the extensive potential for growth in the Bharat Future City initiative, India's inaugural Net-Zero Greenfield Smart City. Covering 30,000 acres, the city is planned to be a multi-faceted, sustainable urban-industrial center featuring specific areas for AI, education, healthcare, industries, residential living, and entertainment.

The Chief Minister stated that international firms such as Marubeni and Semcorp are already committed to the project. He mentioned lately that an MoU was signed with Reliance Group's Vantara to create a new zoo in Future City.

In the meantime, the Saudi industrial conglomerate Expertise has shown interest in collaborating with Telangana's Young India Skills University (YISU).

A specialized firm, with a significant presence in the Middle East, primarily offers plant maintenance in sectors requiring skilled talent, such as petrochemical, oil and gas, fertilizer, steel, cement, water treatment, and power generation.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that YISU was created to connect education and employment through industry-focused curricula and practical, hands-on experience.

Industry Minister D. Sridhar Babu mentioned that Telangana is developing a future-oriented talent pool via foundational education, enhanced skills training, apprenticeships, mentorship, and entrepreneurship, in line with our vision for 2047 and the objective to achieve a $3 trillion economy.

The Saudi firm suggested a collaboration with YISU to meet its demand for hiring approximately 5,000 skilled workers annually.
