US House Approves Trump's Tax Bill Amid Debt Concerns

Despite adding $3.8 trillion to America's already soaring national debt over the next ten years, the US House of Representatives narrowly enacted a comprehensive tax and spending measure that supports former President Donald Trump's 2025 policy agenda, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).
Tax cuts, funding for the military and border security, a harsh immigration crackdown, and the elimination of clean energy incentives put in place under President Joe Biden are all included in the measure.
The proposal was referred to by Trump as "one big, beautiful bill."
Two Republicans joined all Democrats in opposing the bill, which was carried 215–214. "Present" was the vote of a third Republican legislator.
Deep disagreements regarding debt and fiscal responsibility even exist within the Republican Party, as evidenced by the slim margin.
Republicans presently control a majority in the US Senate, where the proposal still needs to pass.
The bill has been criticized for its financial impact despite its broad reach.
According to the CBO, it will increase the national debt by $3.8 trillion, or 124 percent of US GDP, from its present level of $36.2 trillion.
The United States' sovereign rating was lowered by credit rating agency Moody's last week due to long-term structural debt issues and unsustainable deficit levels.
