Vietnam and Laos Push Forward Delivery of Cooperation Agreements

Chairman Man stated that the Lao PM’s inaugural visit to Vietnam since beginning a new term significantly demonstrates the unique Vietnam - Laos bond and brings fresh energy to the profound friendship, exceptional solidarity, extensive collaboration, and strategic alignment between the two Parties, States, and peoples.
On this occasion, he extended his regards and good wishes to Lao Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, NA President Saysomphone Phomvihane, and various other senior Lao officials.

He commended Laos for its substantial, far-reaching, and historically important accomplishments achieved by the Lao Party, State, and citizens in recent years. He expressed belief that with the effective leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the oversight of the NA, and the guidance of the Government under PM Sonexay, the Lao people will successfully implement the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and the 10th five-year national socio-economic development plan, thereby enhancing Laos’ role and global standing.
He stated that the Vietnamese Party, State, and NA will consistently be united in backing Laos’ reform and growth.
PM Sonexay, in return, extended greetings and an invitation from NA President Saysomphone to the host to make an official visit to Laos.
The Prime Minister praised the brotherly Vietnamese populace for their significant and extensive accomplishments achieved under the guidance of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the close supervision of the National Assembly, highlighting ongoing robust economic growth, enhanced living conditions, and reinforced national security and social stability that have strengthened Vietnam's rising status on both global and regional stages.
The two leaders conveyed happiness regarding the constructive progress in their bilateral relations across multiple domains, including politics, diplomacy, defence-security, economy, culture, education, and local interactions.
They characterized the inclusion of "strategic cohesion" in the bilateral relationship framework as a highly significant move, showcasing a long-term perspective and robust political commitment from the leaders of both Parties and States to enhance the unique Vietnam-Laos relationship in this new era.
Applauding the results of the discussions between the two Prime Ministers and the collaborative efforts of both Governments, the host remarked that the two legislative bodies have proactively collaborated to implement bilateral agreements using various and effective methods. These encompass frequent delegations exchange, sharing of legislative experiences, high-level oversight, and collaborative monitoring of significant agreements and essential cooperation initiatives.

Moving forward, both parties consented to strengthen political trust, sustain exchanges at high and all levels through Party, State, NA, People’s Council, and interpersonal avenues; and promote professional collaboration and sharing of experiences among the NA ethnic councils, committees, and friendship parliamentary groups in legislation, oversight, and major national issue decision-making.
They also pledged to support each other at international and regional parliamentary assemblies like the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF), aiding in the safeguarding of common interests for both nations and the region.
The Vietnamese NA will collaborate closely with its Lao counterpart to create a strong legal framework, support, and assist the two Governments in effectively implementing the agreed cooperation programs, stated the host.

The host and guest also explored methods to elevate economic and trade connections to align with the level of their political relations. They committed to addressing challenges for crucial infrastructure initiatives in transportation, energy, commerce, and investment, encompassing expressways and rail connections to the sea, while promoting business collaboration in clean energy, advanced agriculture, and international trade.
