Party General Secretary To Lam had a meeting with Samdech Techo Hun Sen in Phnom Penh, after the formal reception for the Vietnamese leader at the Royal Palace earlier that day.
During the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen gave a warm welcome to General Secretary Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation who were visiting Cambodia shortly after the 14th National Congress of the CPV.
He emphasized that the visit highlighted the significance that the CPV and Vietnamese leaders placed on the strong relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and lasting sustainability between the two nations.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended his congratulations to Viet Nam for the successful completion of the 14th National Party Congress and for the re-election of General Secretary Lam, showing belief that with the guidance of the CPV, the people of Vietnam will continue to make significant achievements and realize the Party's objectives, thereby assisting in the advancement of both regional and global development.
He confirmed that Cambodia values and aims to enhance the bilateral relations. He also praised the socio-economic advancements of Vietnam, expressing his desire for both countries to expand their markets for stronger economic connections.
General Secretary Lam praised the remarkable progress achieved by the Cambodian people in recent years. He also stated his belief that Cambodia will continue to thrive under the leadership of King Norodom Sihamoni, the Senate, the National Assembly, and the Government, as well as the unity of its people.
Lam expressed confidence in Cambodia's ability to develop further, enhance living conditions, and construct a peaceful, harmonious, cooperative nation with sustainable growth. General Secretary Lam briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the current situation in Viet Nam and the events of the 14th National Party Congress.

He mentioned that Viet Nam's success has been aided by international allies, particularly neighboring countries such as Cambodia. Lam expressed his appreciation for the continuous assistance from the late King Norodom Sihanouk, Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, King Norodom Sihamoni, and the people of Cambodia during Viet Nam's historical fight for independence and ongoing efforts for national development and defense.
Both parties exchanged information regarding their respective development objectives and directions in an effort to improve collaboration and mutual growth between the two countries, as well as within the framework of Viet Nam, Cambodia, and Laos. General Secretary Lam visited Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk at the Royal Palace.
The leader of the Party expressed his gratitude for being welcomed back to Cambodia by King Norodom Sihamoni, conveyed heartfelt thanks to the Queen Mother for her hospitality, and extended well wishes for her health and continued efforts towards the country's development and fostering friendship between the two nations.
