As technology is overwhelming businesses and industries CTOs (Chief Technology Officers) are critically leading organizations today, responsibly driving technology strategy, innovation, and digital transformation for them.
CEO Insights recently had the opportunity to interview one Reckoning Technology Leader Jorge Allen Adajar, Chief Technology Officer of KA1ROS Data Processing Services, Manila, Philippines Let’s get to know him in-depth!
Give a brief account of your professional journey.
Well, my career journey has been pretty enriching over the years. Having done a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, I kickstarted my journey right in the IT sector way back in 2005 and made my way by transcending roles like a Programmer (2205-0) to Network Infrastructure and System Administrator (2007-10).
I also did some certifications mid-way to empower myself in technical skills, and hence I am also a PMP-certified, Cisco-certified, and Microsoft-certified professional.
Unlike other places in the Philippines majority of the roles are multi-role, I became an IT Project manager/IP Operations manager handling different projects during the operation. PMP certification is what helped me with my responsibilities as a Project Manager, adopting the best practice and methodology within the timeline and budget and achieving the deadlines.
Today, I have grown to be an IT head or vice president to CTO overseeing various verticals- IT security, IT projects, IT infrastructure, and IT development. So, what I'm doing right now is not just the technology, but I'm focusing on creating the product for our clients.
My motivation is accelerated by three basic factors- doing best for my family applying my tech knowledge, best practices, decision-making, and critical thinking skills; backing my team with 100 percent tech guidance; and the last implementing what's best for the company.
I have always made people realize that I am here, I was always with them, and will be too in the future
How would you define your company services as an organization and its current position in the market?
Well, I believe that KA1ROS will lead the Philippines in the digital innovation program from 2023 to the present because KA1ROS is not just a software development company, but a data processing technology company in the Philippines, and globally.
Basically, all the technology is driven by the data and not just the automation or the programming languages. So, the business model of KA1ROS DATA PROCESSING SERVICES is all that is driven by data and not just automation or programming languages.
We work together with the private and specifically for the government and innovate end-to-end tourism in the Philippines through automation, be it the search, booking, payment, or more. Additionally, one of the focuses of KA1ROS DATA PROCESSING SERVICES this year is to empower healthcare through digital innovation as we have also been tapped by the government.
Well, we are doing descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics so that all the Philippines patients can get to know about their health status. So yeah, for me KA1ROS DATA PROCESSING SERVICES is and will be the leading technology company in the Philippines.
Elaborate on the technology framework inbuilt in the company’s solutions. Also, which are the latest technology trends the company is planning to adopt?
Well, we have different programming languages like PHP, and Python. We are also using different frameworks like Vanilla and Ignited. In the path of development and in terms of delivery of all our products for the customer in terms of project management, we are using Agile Scrum PMP and other methodologies, but of course, the priority is the client's requirements, using our expertise for methodology or using the framework for developing a product or system or technology.
So, yeah, we are empowering our products and system with the data not just automation, learning more about the different frameworks, and different methodologies coming from our client.
Tell us about your leadership approach and the guidelines you follow as a leader.
As a leader, I discovered my talent, way back in 2010. I am a visionary leader who can easily understand the client’s needs, and provide for them by producing the right product or technology that fits their requirement. As a visionary leader, I need to develop an Authoritative and Democratic leadership.
Authoritative highlights your work and decision-making, ensuring success, and even if it's not, the interim solution, while Democratic leadership is led by distributed responsibility and shared accountability. Hence, I stand by it.
What are the major challenges you have encountered initially while establishing yourself as a successful leader? Also, how did you overcome them?
Being a leader, one of the challenges that I have faced is with people management. There are instances when people often feel tired and demotivated in their work, hence motivation is what has seemed helpful. I have always made them realize that I am here, I was always with them, and will be too in the future.
What is your future destination that you're heading towards?
Well, there's been a bit of blessing from God that this company hired me and trusted me believing in my talent. I want to become a blessing to them too showing them the best version of me through my skills and expertise in technology. I’m thankful to all, those who have trusted me, and of course who didn’t, you all have been a motivation for me.
