As its Integrated Commercial approach is put into practice to better serve the whole commercial segment, Allianz announced that Asia will be the region's regional leader: Subject to regulatory approval, Christian Sandric will transition from AIG to Allianz Commercial as Commercial Managing Director Asia in Singapore starting on September 1, 2023. Before leaving to seek options outside the Allianz Group, Mark Mitchell, the current Regional Managing Director for Asia for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS), will stay in his position until Christian Sandric joins.

With significant markets including China (including Hong Kong), India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand, Allianz Commercial Asia provides clients with services throughout this region. Utilizing its vast geographic network, improved digital capabilities, and robust product and service portfolio, which includes Multinational and Risk Consulting, Global Industry and Alternative Risk Transfer solutions, Allianz is targeting significant growth opportunities across the full Commercial segment in Asia, which includes mid-sized businesses, large multinational corporations, and specialty business.

AIG's General Insurance business in those countries is currently managed by Christian Sandric, who is also President & CEO of AIG Singapore and Regional Manager for Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia.  He had a number of leadership positions with increasing responsibility throughout the United States, Australia, Europe, and Asia during his 24-year tenure with AIG. He spent nine years working for AIG Japan before relocating to Singapore, in addition to various Asia-based positions in both Hong Kong and Shanghai.  Sandric graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Conservation and International Affairs.

The confirmation of comparable leadership positions for other important commercial markets throughout the world, including Australia, France, Germany, the UK, Iberia, and Latin America, precedes Sandric's appointment.
