DBS Appoints Kelvin Wong as Chief Sustainability Officer
Kelvin Wong has been appointed to the position of Chief Sustainability Officer for DBS effective 11th May 2026 where he will be responsible for leading the bank's sustainability initiatives.
Wong has been with DBS since 2016 and his current role is Managing Director and Head of the Energy, Renewable & Infrastructure Sector within DBS's Institutional Banking Group. Wong will take over from Helge Muenkel, who will be leaving DBS due to international relocation.
According to Tan Su Shan, CEO of DBS, Wong's extensive background in and policy regulation, as well as his expertise in financing, puts him in a strong position to help the bank's sustainability efforts through its clients and the community.
Prior to joining DBS, Wong held various senior level positions in specialized financing at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and at Standard Chartered Bank, specifically in the areas of project finance, acquisition finance, leveraged finance, merging and acquisitions. He also spent several years working as an officer of the Energy Market Authority of Singapore.

Wong has an Honours degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from Arcadia University.

Wong has been a member of the International Energy Agency Finance Industry Advisory Board since its formation and has served as a peer reviewer of the IEA's Southeast Asia Energy Outlook report since 2021.
