Andries Retief has been named as the chief executive officer for DHL Supply Chain's South East Asia cluster, which includes Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia. DHL Supply Chain is the industry leader in contract logistics solutions worldwide. He will answer directly to Singapore-based Terry Ryan, CEO of DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific.

Retief most recently served as the CEO of the Polish-based DHL Supply Chain Central & Eastern Europe. Three years in a row under his direction, revenue and profitability increased by double digits. "Andries has worked in Europe and Africa, where he produced revolutionary change in the markets he headed, and he brings a unique perspective to the table. He has successfully led the organisation through a pandemic that was exacerbated by geopolitical concerns. His global perspective and steady leadership make him the ideal candidate for this regional position, in my opinion." the CEO of DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific, Terry Ryan, said.

Retief started working at DHL Supply Chain in 2009 as the South African Finance Manager, beginning an 18-year career that has taken him to two continents. Before taking over as CEO of DHL Supply Chain, Central & Eastern Europe in 2019, he was appointed Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain East Africa in 2016. By acquiring and developing revolutionary new business in the transportation, e-commerce, and automotive sectors, he was successful in delivering faster growth in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia.

"South East Asia is among the fastest-growing regions in the world with a strong and diverse talent pool. I am excited to work closely with our customers to leverage our strengths in technology, e-commerce fulfillment network, and life science sectors while building new capabilities and expanding into other sectors," said Andries Retief, CEO, South East Asia, DHL Supply Chain. "I am also eager to further our agenda in diversity and inclusion, providing our employees with a good experience as we grow together, guided by our culture of respect and results."
