ENOC Launches First Checkout-Free ZOOM Store Using Amazon Tech

ENOC Group has launched its inaugural ZOOM convenience store utilizing Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology, enabling checkout-free shopping within its retail network and achieving a new milestone in convenience retail innovation across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Situated at the ENOC service station Site 1019, across from City Walk, the store employs artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision to provide a quicker and smoother shopping experience, enabling customers to buy items without traditional checkout counters.
With this technology, customers choose the items they want, tap their payment card or mobile wallet as they exit, and leave the store without having to wait in lines. The system automatically recognizes products removed from or placed back on shelves, keeping a digital log of transactions and handling payment once the shopping experience is finished.
The launch marks the initial implementation of Amazon's Just Walk Out technology in ENOC's ZOOM retail network and is part of the group's wider strategy to upgrade its convenience retail services by using advanced technologies and global partnerships.
Through the incorporation of Amazon's retail tech in its service stations, ENOC seeks to address evolving customer expectations, especially the increasing need for speed, adaptability, and convenience. The initiative showcases ENOC's goal to evolve its service stations into comprehensive, one-stop-shop locations that merge mobility services with tech-enhanced retail experiences. The launch is based on a strategic partnership revealed by ENOC Group and Amazon UAE in October 2025, focusing on improving retail experiences by integrating ENOC's vast retail network with Amazon's digital commerce strengths and technological skills.

It also involves providing access to ENOC's product range through Amazon.ae, broadening customer reach to the group's retail products through online platforms.
By collaborating, ENOC seeks to enhance its role in convenience retail while discovering creative methods to elevate customer experiences throughout its network.

Rajiv Chopra, Vice President, Just Walk Out, says, “Convenience stores have operated the same way for decades: customers select their items, join a queue, and wait to pay. Just Walk Out technology by Amazon removes that final step. ENOC is exactly the kind of forward-looking partner to bring this experience to the region, and we're proud that its ZOOM stores are the first in the Middle East to introduce it, giving customers a faster, more seamless way to shop and continue their journey”.
