HS Hyosung Advanced Materials is allocating $100 million (approximately 130 billion won) in Da Nang, Vietnam, to create a significant carpet manufacturing facility.
HS Hyosung Advanced Materials had a groundbreaking event for its carpet manufacturing facility at the Tam Thang Industrial Zone in Da Nang, Vietnam, on September 29.

With this investment, the company obtained an extra 110 thousand square meters in addition to the 390 thousand square meters of tire cord and airbag plant locations held by the current Quang Nam subsidiary.
Consequently, it will have a production infrastructure covering 500 thousand square meters and aims to finish the BCF yarn, automotive, and commercial carpet facilities by 2029.
The essence of this new facility is to create a 'yarn-carpet integrated production system' that links all stages from raw material imports to the production of the final finished product into a single unit. The strategy aims to enhance production efficiency through vertical integration of the complete process, beginning with BCF yarn creation and continuing through processing, spinning, backing, and laminating.
This relies on the textile and material technology developed over six decades since the era of the Hyosung Group. Through enhancing the connection among processes, the organization has built a basis to improve quality competitiveness while also swiftly addressing the rigorous needs of international clients.

HS Hyosung Advanced Materials' Interior PU is focusing heavily on the eco-friendly mobility materials market, where demand has surged recently. To lessen the reliance on petrochemical resources, the company has obtained a varied assortment, featuring a 'bio-based PET carpet' made with 30 percent raw materials sourced from sugarcane, along with recycled nylon and PET carpets that repurpose discarded fishing nets and waste PET bottles.
Lim Jin-dal, CEO of HS Hyosung Advanced Materials, explains, "The need for eco-friendly interior materials is rapidly increasing, centered on electric vehicles," and added, "We will lead market trends by putting forward our unrivaled technological prowess and integrated production system."
HS Hyosung Advanced Materials' mobility materials division is anticipated to accelerate following 2029, upon the completion of the new Tam Thang facility in Vietnam.
Earlier, HS Hyosung Advanced Materials displayed carbon fiber items for aerospace, defense, and drone uses at CAMX 2026 in the US, aiming to grow in advanced sectors. The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo lasts three days, taking place from Tuesday to Thursday (local time) in Atlanta.
Over 500 companies are involved, with around 7,000 attendees anticipated. HS Hyosung Advanced Materials has been involved in the annual exhibition since its inception in 2014.

The company is showcasing 3K carbon fiber, 3K woven materials and composites for drones, in addition to high-pressure containers utilized in satellites. The firm stated that uses are growing in aerospace, defense, and drones, where the material's light weight and high strength are crucial.
